The exchanger has been great. But I also have a 5 gallon tank in the trunk.

100 degree temps cruising I see..

IAT 1 100
IAT 2 108 TO 110
IAT 3 126

If I go through 3rd and 4th on highway I see.

IAT 1 100
IAT 2 108 but falls to 100 or 99
IAT 3 126 falls at 1st then rises to 136 then a 1/2 mile later at 70 it back to 126.

At resting the AC fans aren't strong enough to keeps temp down. I would suggest mount 2 or 1 big fan for long idle periods. However once moving at 60 or 70 temps fall back to cruising temps in about 8 to 10 mins they start to fall immediately but the last 3 or 4 degrees take the 8 to 10 mind but after 3 or 4 min of driving they are almost normal.

Thanks for the information Metcalf. It sounds like what others have said about airflow restrictions through the HE might have some teeth. Have you noticed a change in your coolant temperatures or AC performance? I was looking at the XL-version, too, and wondering what downsides there might be. I think that's what you have, isn't it? I'm trying to figure out how overkill any upgrade for me might be. I'm not going to make much more, if any, power than I do now, so it's starting to look like this just isn't worth it.

Thanks again for sharing.

The ac has no change in temp but it will lower the iat 2 a bit sitting vs no circulation of cooling fans

Any data on the engine coolant?

Cool. For the price of these, even though it might not be that effective for my combination, it wouldn't be a huge loss if it didn't work out that well. If coolant temps don't change much (nor AC operation), I'd probably jump on this.

I'm not sure where PLM gets the core's from but when I approached them we used the same dimensions as weaponx, afco, and others. Only the one from ADM uses the same dimensions as the stock unit and his is from Ron Davis.

My 5th gen was twin turbo it had the upgraded AGP at least 4 inches thick I ran into higher coolant temps and oil coolant sitting still I had to shut AC off in traffic once I turned the AC off the fans brought it back to normal temps. Even with the higher temps I didn't notice AC not cooling

Vengeance Racing used AFCO in mine.

Rhodes Racing from jegs 5 gallon
Stewart emp pump

Bought the 2 parts together and fittings used 50 bucks off coupon.

Just picked up the weaponx for wife's car found it for 300 shipped. It's 6 gallon I believe and fits under carpet I had a 3 gallon built for hers and fits between the modules with out having to relocate them however it's tad to tall and somehow her lid keeps breaking from setting stuff in trunk so I'm gonna replace hers. I didn't need the trunk space so mine comes up through the carpet. I still have room for golf clubs w seat down.

If you're trying to control heat, have you thought about putting in a better oil cooler? I'm looking at this option, partially because of the heat here in Phoenix. Oil temps are getting up into the danger zone on a regular basis.

You run conventional oil? They can only Handle 250 to 270 and then break down. Synthetic can handle 450 to 700 degrees depending on brand or blend?
