So due to my height and the way I seat (as low as possible), the armrest REALLY gets into the way of my shifting motion so I finally decided to remove the entire damn armrest yesterday, much better, however now the center console looks a bit off since the holes for the hinge are exposed and there's a hole for the locking mechanism, I'm wondering if I could maybe add a (non-permanent) leather insert around those parts to cover them up and have the center console not look like it's missing something so much, any suggestions about how to get around this?

The problem IS the armrest itself, I was asking more for suggesting about ordering or making a custom leather piece like the highlighted shape, if you can also do that since I've seen your work, then you can drop me a dm

Right so I managed to get this done, I suck at crafts but this turned out decent enough, it's reversible at any time and between this and some seat adjustments means I don't miss shifts any more, not much more uncomfortable than the rock hard armrest, also a picture of my natural shifting position
