Thank you! (especially with Terminator hood questions)

I just wanted to post a thank you to everyone who helped me out this summer with information, measurements, and opinions on all of the appearance mods that I wanted to do. I pivotted several times based on what you guys were saying, but ended up with something I was very happy with. The process would not have been nearly as easy without the help I received. Especially specific measurements and event image conversions to help me get a paint mask created!

I ended up purchasing the Terminator GT CF hood, and painted it yellow with accent areas left in CF; that was way harder than expected! But I'm happy with the results. I removed my front-bumper vinyl stripes and repainted the ground effects to better flow with the hood design.

To practice painting with auto paint I did several of the engine bay components. Being my first time they came out unsurprisingly messy, but it isn't too noticable with the angle you need to view them at so it ended up being a nice mod.

Then I installed the reverse tilt hood kit, which VIS told me should obviate the need for hood pins (which I don't like the look of). A few bonus points for it looking cool too.

Then, after coming back from a weekend trip with my fiancee, she surprised me with the VDI vertical door kit. That was awesome of her, though I think she was just tired of my whining about my back hurting when trying to slide into the car in our narrow garage.

I still have a lot of work to do before the year ends. The hood still needs buffed, and I need to touch up a few areas where I burned through when sanding. And I'd like to take off the vinyl/plastidip stripes in the back and paint them on, as well as paint the strut tower brace yellow with a couple of black stripes. I think a lot of that is going to wait until next year though. For this summer I'm quite happy with the transformation.

Either you have an incredible eye for backgrounds or you were at the cruise?

Yes, the second one was at the Labor Day car cruise in South Park. I found a post about it online and was thrilled as I grew up in Bethel Park and always like to visit 'home'.

I actually drove by the labor day car cruise in South Park. I was visiting family in Finleyville. If I had more time I would have stopped for sure. Looked fantastic!

Allegheny county is having another car cruise in South Park on 9/19/21

Awesome; thanks for the heads up. The one we usually go to is in Finleyville on Friday nights, but Fridays can be busy so it's nice to have Sunday as an option!

Man that looks great! The doors are very cool. That strut tower brace is screaming for something. I wrapped mine with carbon fiber and painted the the end pieces.
