painted calipers

Painted my calipers with the G2 system and changed out the Brembo pads to Powerstop ceramic pads.
The G2 paint was a two day project for me. One day to put the car up on jack stands and clean the calipers, the next to paint. I put 4 coats on and had plenty of paint left over.
Glad to get rid of the dusting Brembo pads. I've noticed no loss of stopping power and the dust is minimal.

Nice work, looks good. When I did mine they lasted about 6 years with the G2 paint. Then they started looking not so good anymore, discolored, chipped and all, so I finally had the powder coated Lollipop Red. Took care of that problem. 4 years now and still look brand new!!

Those look great. I know powder coating is the way to go but if I can get 6 yrs out of these I'll be happy. This car is very babied.

Did you remove the calipers completely or do them on off the brake line?

I taped off everything I didn't want painted and removed the brake pads, only because I was replacing them. They easily could be taped off. They were painted while on the rotor.
Paint jobs are only as good as the prep work. I first scrubbed the calipers with dawn dish soap and a scotch pad and then rinsed. I then used the brake cleaner that comes with the g2 kit and one more can of my own. I then taped off everything. This was one days work for me. I found a small ox hair brush I bought at Ace hardware worked best for the painting.

Well cool. Thanks for the detailed response. I'm getting ready to do mine so I was hoping that I didn't have to remove the brake lines and take the calipers off completely.

One day. Getting them on centered and straight was a challenge for me.

Did you pant the inside? I bought the kit and cleaned, prepped, and taped but couldn’t bring myself to do it while still on the car. Guess I have something to do on a rainy day.

I did not paint the inside. Just went around the inner edges.
