My small build thread.....w/2650 and now TURBO!!!

EDIT 2/28/19: Build isn't that small anymore! 818hp with stock blower
EDIT 11/13/19: Page 11 for 2650 stuff
EDIT 9/25/20 page 14 went TURBO!

Hey hows it going. The purpose of this thread is to show my experience with different mods and their effect on my 18 A10 ZL1. Prior to this, I had a 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT that had a 426, F1A procharger, nitrous and ran on e85. I do all of my own work (including tuning) except engine builds.

The ZL1 was purchased December 20th 2017. Drove it for a week and with 90 miles on the cluster, I removed the supercharger and sent it to Kong Performance to have it ported along with the snout. Never baselined the car because I'm an idiot but thats another story. I took an average of a few stock ZL1s and came up with 544hp as a baseline The Supercharger came back after a few weeks and I decided to send it to nitrous outlet to have spray bars installed. While it was away, the weather started to get better and I wanted to go to the track. A friend of mine has a 2016 cts v that got a whipple installed (was on Race proven motorsports youtube channel) so i borrowed his stock blower, installed stainless works 2" headers, rotofab and went to atco raceway with the stock tune. With 250 miles on it, first pass was 11.26 @ 126mph (I know i know break-in blah blah blah). It went 11.2x all day with a best pass of 11.20. Fast forward to yesterday, with the Kong Performance Ported supercharger, snout, and 103 tb, it made 588hp on 93 and 621hp on 93 with a little meth SAE. This is with stock upper and lower pulleys. Didnt work on the 93 tune much because it will be on e85 soon, so that number was from me street tuning. My next addition will be ethanol (along with dsx auxiliary fuel system) and a custom 5" intake. The 5" intakes have been proven to gain power on LSAs so i'll give it a try. After the intake will be a 9.55 lower pulley then 150 shot of nitrous. My goal is to have a 9.50 car with no cam. Since I havent seen any real gains from head/cam packages, i'll probably never get one. Im very pleased with the results from this first stage of mods. Definitely recommend a Kong performance ported blower if you are looking for more power but want to keep it simple.

Dyno sheet 93 VS 93 and Meth.

Is the exhaust stock except for the headers or did you delete converters?

Following. I'm interested in seeing how well my A10 will do with stock heads/cam and similar mods with some cooling improvements. I bet blower only it'll go mid 10s as is, tune alone with intake/headers would provide significant gains and with ported blower even more. Awesome build!

This sounds like a cool build. Unfortunately, since it was dynoed with headers, we just don't know how much power the ported blower and throttle body actually gave you. I assume headesr are worth between 20 - 25 rwhp. I could be wrong though. That's what I picked up on my stock, high mileage ls1.

I can't say, but I will ask if anyone can find me a stock pullied lt4 with more power that wasnt ported by Kong?

On another note, did some test fitting of a set of Forgestar F14 drag wheels. I believe i am the first to try the 18x5 fronts. They just BARELY clear. Cant use stick on weights to balance them as they will hit the caliper. I weighed all the wheels with tires and this was the result:
OEM:
Front 60lbs
Rear 61lbs
FORGESTAR
Front 45lbs
Rear 48lbs

You're comparing headers on an NA car to a blower car, apples to oranges.

Not only that, but the ls1 had a junk manifold design compared to the advancements with the design of the 6tg gens tri-y headers.

How much of the gain was attributed to the 103 mm TB? How much was attributed to the porting.. it makes since to do a 103 but since we measuring true gains and not everyone can dish out 600 for tb after 1000 plus for porting
