How can i tell if a used 2SS has MRC?

Is there a way of looking at a gen 6 2SS to see if it has magnetic ride control? I'm tired of waiting for a new one. I put in an order for a 2SS a month ago and the order hasn't been accepted yet. I hate jumping into the used market now but I'm getting desperate. Any help much appreciated.

You can go to the Infotainment screen and go to settings, drive mode and then see suspension choices.

A web-based VIN decoder will tell you if you cannot see the car personally.

this.
we searched out cars online as not much here locally and cars seem to be higher priced in sin city. I ended up purchasing 4 monroney reports https://monroneylabels.com/
while shopping. I figure the $7 that I spent saved me from wasting someone's time shopping a car I wasn't going to be interested in or not trusting the salesman at the dealership for accurate info.
some dealers list vin's online and a quick google search would net me an options list from archived websites. we queried on dozens of cars and ultimately had 4 that we couldn't find the exact info and monroney gave us the window sticker.

good luck.

I have had a truck on order since April. You won’t see a new order anytime soon

I'm sorry you're waiting so long on your truck, but this is not accurate as a blanket statement. Wait time really depends on the dealer you ordered with, the model you ordered, and what options it has. With the supply chain issues wait times are definitely longer than normal, but your experience of 5 months plus is not guaranteed for every Chevy.

Exactly. I ordered my car in the middle of May, and I took delivery on July 1.

Just wait until you take it to the dealer for something and they tell you need new MRC shocks for $3800 plus labor. Then you know you have them. Just kidding around.

^^^
This, or simply look under it and check for the presence of these ride height sensors.

While this works, you sort of have to know what you're looking for sometimes. Simplest way might just be to get the RPO codes for the car and look for F55. Up until 2019/2020, the RPO code sticker was typically in the trunk (I believe). Newer builds have a QR code on the sticker on the door that will pull up all of the RPO codes.

This is what I’d do…

these are all great and we learned them as well BUT if you are shopping cars at dealerships hundreds of miles away, good luck getting some unmotivated car salesman to go through an infotainment screen let alone bend over and look under a car for something they have NO clue about...

window sticker for us was 100% what the car is optioned with. even RPO code conversation was met with crickets on the other end.

Key piece... Motivation. But, knowing exactly what to ask them for and where to look to find it is key as well. Salespeople are generally NOT deeply knowledgeable about a particular model, so you need to be able to accurately guide them. Where I bought my car, they had a specific sales person that was "the Camaro guy". Super nice guy, had a good chunk of knowledge, but it ended up that we both learned something from the other during the process.

Why can't you ask for the VIN, as suggested, and look it up?

If they cannot provide that, find another avenue.

VIN's are commonly available right on the web site. I haven't found an online tool that is actually reliable in decoding them correctly. There are some that work well with certain vehicles, some with certain years, etc. Most come back with a variety of incorrect information.

FaxVIN told me my VIN is invalid.
The VIN decoder on this site claims my car is a 2021 (it's a 2020).
VINDecoderz actually has a photo of my actual car on the selling dealer's lot. But no useful info about it.

Further, the VIN won't tell you if it has specific options like NPP or MRC. You would need to get the Monroney Window Sticker for the car for that.
