NPP squeaking noise

Just started up my SS and noticed a fairly loud squeaking noise when going from the Tour mode to the Sport mode. It only lasts for a second or so. Anyone else have this problem? The temperature is about 30°F currently, I do not recall hearing this when it was warmer out. Thanks!

I had a very loud chirp when switching from v8 to v4 mode on my first NPP. My new one doesn't do it. I'd take it to the dealer if it bothers you enough. They may replace it

Mine did the same thing, just a little chirp noise. Its the set of valves closing in the exhaust. I spoke with my dealer and they said they have never heard of it before and most likely something with the valve is loose or build up has caused the clearances to be too tight.

Had the appointment with Dealer... Their instructions were to grease it so they did. Got home, backed in by garage and put the car in tour mode. Squeak is now louder than before. Frustrating!

Sounds like the squeeky NPP has been going on for a while since the system was introduced in the corvette.

The NPP in my GEN5 is different than the stingray and new Camaro. Only manual trans had the option for NPP since they don't have AFM. Furthermore the valves are vacuum based not electric like they are on the stingray and gen 6 Camaro.

Update - Returned the car to the Dealer today and they reviewed the issue with GM Engineers. I guess they measured the loudness (SPL) of the squeak and it was decided the best course of action was to replace the exhaust system. I do not have the details yet as to what they ordered as I doubt it was the entire exhaust just the sections with the NPP valve. Anyway, just wanted to provide an update.

Just adding this for others with a similar issue, since it sounds like the dealer has evaluated yours and come to a service action.

This applies to a squeak when changing modes, not the issues some have with a rattling valve that is constant or at least appears in a certain rev range. There is a TSB to cover the squeak when changing modes. It was originally for Corvettes but amended to cover the 2016 Camaro thru Dec 15th builds.

Thanks, I had heard about a TSB but never actually saw it until you posted it.

Just curious, how did this turn out for you? Currently mine chirps from v8 to v4, squeaks while driving at random times, and rattles in all modes. They might be replacing my exhaust but I'm not sure yet. They don't believe me about the squeak or the AFM chirp and called it a "click" form the transmission gears changing =/ I removed f51 and the squeak stopped but not the rest ofc.
