I would highly recommend you do what I did when I got my first Camaro. Give it 2-3 months of easy casual driving, get used to the power the engine has. I have driven V8's my entire life, and I spent 3 months driving my first camaro like a bitch until I got used to the power it had and how it handles under pressure. 455hp is a huge step from 280-300hp V8's Your step from 200 hp to 455 hp is going to be huge and enlightening. The big difference between a V8 vs a smaller engine. V8's get out of the hole and 0-60 a lot faster. That means without traction none of that is possible. Remember that when you learn to drive it. Just take it easy for a few months until you get used to it. Last piece of advice. Passenger Side Blind spot. BE MINDFUL of that one. Your passenger side mirror light will warn you so pay attention to it if need be. |

If you are not an aggressive driver by nature, you can just drive the car and enjoy it. The one thing that may take getting used to is the cave-like interior with limited visibility. |

No "cave"/"bathtub" or (as I see) cockpit-like interior with the vert

True that, Sir, I was thinking more about the long term overall driving experience.
Aren't these cars missing those cute neck heaters from higher end convertibles, oh well I'm happy with my coupe, the fighter jet feel is fine with me, no visibility issues with proper mirror adjustment and BSM.

Do- try out the line lock right there at the dealer! That'll warm those tires up.

Happy to say I made it back with zero issues. I was even brave enough to get it up to 3000RPM's a few times! Definitely a beautiful machine. Kids love it and the wife even stated she likes it more than she thought she would.
Excited for it to get a little warmer so the top can off and even better memories can be made. Here's to years of new adventures! |
