Returning previous Gen 5 owner

I’m new Camaro6 ! So greetings to everyone. I had a 2012 1ss loved allot… then traded it on 2019 Civic type R… I put my deposit down on a rapid blue 2 SS with the ceramic white interior. I came back basically because of the new 10 speed automatic. I commute to Philly from Jersey for work. The auto will suit my needs better.
Does anyone have any info on cars built after January 9th that they will not be equipped with reverse assist? Due to chip shortages?

I must live near you. as muc\c as I loved my 5th Gen Camaros, especially my SS1LE, the CA6 is lighter, faster, and much more of a sports car. I predict you will love it!

It looks like its the parking assistant sensors that go in the bumpers---I don't think I'll miss it.

I feel like this is one of those sensors where it's more trouble than it's worth until the one time they save you from $2000 worth of damage.

The way I see it, most of the time they beep overly cautious. I can see where I'm reversing and I know what it's beeping at, but it's miles away. But... there's going to be that ONE time where I'm backing up somewhere new and it's gonna save me from some random piece of metal jutting out somewhere I'm not expecting.

Pretty sure they will be adding them back retroactively.

I wonder if its the actual sensors or another part that ties it to the system?

I hope this only means the parking sensors that display radar bars in the cluster that are a bit gimmicky and not super useful. If the rear cross traffic alert feature also gets skipped, that'd be more painful, because you'll sorely miss it when backing out from between two big kahunas or a garage. The RCTA sensors detect side traffic and mark its position and direction on the infotainment screen, along with the obligatory beeps.
