OEM brace

I went with the OEM brace, hydro dipped and black painted ends.

I thought the OEM strut brace didn't fit the ZL1, did you have to modify anything to clear the engine or hood?

Didn't know about this either. Nice looking carbon too!

Does that brace come on convertibles only?

Where did you get the valve covers?

I thought our Camaros didn’t need strut tower braces because of the rigid body structure!

Yes.

The strut tower brace is only needed on the vert, as per the chief engineer: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...70&postcount=1

But it does not come on the vet in a ZL1, does that mean it needed on all cars, time will tell.

I would LOVE to have one of these on my ZL1:

https://www.shopchevyparts.com/perfo...-92301591.html

I wonder if we could make it fit with washers or is the issue the hood being too low vs. the SS?

I'm calling BS on the Strut Tower brace having no benefit!
My car is at Weapon-X getting my Whipple build and I took the STB off...I'm going on record saying that my car doesn't handle as well without the brace and it is very noticeable.
I will find a way to get it back on with the Whipple.

Did you have to mod anything to mount it to the zl1? Or was it just a bolt on. I am with you it definitely helps. I mean it definitely doesn't hurt.
