So it would be cheaper (based on where the Silverado starts, and where the Tacoma & Frontier are), more efficient (even if it is just 1 or 2 mpg), and roughly as capable as a V6 Silverado ... thats not a bad deal.

Well I just read the Ram 1500 Ecodiesel is EPA rated at 20MPG city and 28MPG hwy. My guess is 22 city and 30 hwy for the diesel Colorado/Canyon

I really like the front end!
If it had a turbo available, I'd get it. Looks waaaaaay better than the previous version. |

I got a chance to see the Colorado and Canyon yesterday in person at the Chicago Auto show. Both very impressive mid size trucks, the GMC was way more impressive to me tho, and I am very curious to see what the pricing and MPGs look like. I mean if the Ram ECO Diesel is rated at 28MPG HWY, I am assuming the 2.7 Eco boost in the new F-150 would have to be close to that. I hope the GM mid sizers can better that or be equal with a better price. If they do I am pretty much sold.

Just saw where the Colorado will weigh between 3944 and 4266lbs!! Wow I didn't expect it to weigh that much, I guess it's not really that small of a truck

It will weigh roughl 300 - 400 lbs more than the last gen Colorado trucks depending on trim from what I've read. Kind of dissapointing, but not really when you think about it. It is going to leapfrog the old truck in quality, ride, amenities and what not (that coming from a 2006 Colorado owner and I enjoy my truck for the most part).
The new midsizers are a hair taller, not much longer (unless you count the new 6'2" bed on the crew cab) but are 4" wider I believe. Put it next to a fullsize, and it still seems much smaler though. Good for me.

Yeah if you're looking for a new S-10 or Sonoma, these aren't for you.

That kinda reminds me of an idea I've had for a while ... I've been kinda curious to see how a new midsize pickup compares in capability to a half ton from 15 or 20 years ago. Or new 1/2 ton vs older HD. Not just the basic facts & figures, but a full-on comparison test from a reputable magazine/website. I think it would be pretty interesting to read.

Well I found the boost gauge I am going to install if I get the diesel.http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugede...arch&gid=3715I think that style is giong to match the stock gauges really closely.
