No more Crackle and pop.

Hi, mine is a 17' SS 6speed with over 66k miles now with stock NPP exhaust. I took videos of my car when new and was well aware of the crackle and some popping when letting off the gas and during downshifts etc. I was never a fan of the C and P's. Today I was looking at some more recent videos and noticed all the C and Ps are gone, just rumbles and deeper pitch. Anyone else with higher mileage and stock NPP notice this? I assume the metal in the mufflers are now seasoned from age, hot cold temp changes etc. Now I just still have the Snap without the crackle and pop. Sounds so much better than when new. Sounds similar to the old 69 302 z/28 stock chambered exhaust minus the lope of the cam that a school mates brother owned.

I think this is just a decel enrichment. And I think people here have added/deleted/tweaked this with HP tuners.
My 17 2SS doesn't have it so much. They upped the pop factor in later years, maybe 2019?

I drove a 21 lt1 manual almost 2 years ago. The sound on deceleration was ridiculous. I was in traffic and at first I didn't know it was coming from the car I was driving.

I really like the crackles and pops in my 2021 LT1, but I can completely understand how some might think it's a little much. Just having the exhaust on stealth and avoiding engine braking and higher RPMs will reduce or almost eliminate the noise, though.

The crackles and pops were always noticeable in the Camaro but even more so after 2019 where GM purposely made them more pronounced in the factory tune. Most tuners take it out, or at least calm it down whenever you get a tune. Aftermarket exhausts can also effect it as well.

I cannot stand the crackles and pops on my 22 SS 1LE. And with the MBRP axle back its gotten even worse. I hope to get them tuned out once I go full bolt on when the warranty is done.

Yep, this. I have gone under overpasses on decel from close to WOT with the AWE track and it literally sounds like a drive by shooting with shotguns Once I get headers and tune I'm hoping the extreme pops will simmer down

My 2017 ZL1 doesn’t have the pops much anymore but that’s the way it is now and I am good with it.

I notice it when the car is cold but not so much after it's warmed up. I don't mind it.

Mine might sound a little bit less "tinny" than when new, but it's hard to tell. Cold definitely turns up the volume. I had a super loud cold start the other day around 38° or so compared to when it's warmer in the summer.

This weekend I test drove a new Camaro SS1LE MT and couldn't stand the exhaust crackle and pops sound of the exhaust. Definitely I prefer the NPP exhaust sound of the '16-'18 V8 Camaro

I wish there was an easy way to change the tune to get rid of this crackle pop crap. It is the new ricer trend and who knows what kind of damage it is doing to the cats, etc. by sending un burnt fuel out the exhaust to ignite. Stupid ricey crap.

I totally agree with the ricer BS. Does yours ever sound like a backfire? Occasionally if I am on the throttle hard I will get one pop that is more like a backfire that is more reminiscent of a POS car. I think the straight piped AWE track might be at fault.
