Rear SS Brembos same as 5th Gen?
Search was broken, so I browsed through all 18 pages in this subforum. Didn't find an answer.
Does anyone know if the rear 4-piston Brembos on a 16-17 SS are the same as the ones from the 5th Gens? They have different GM part numbers I think, but they look identical. |

I don't have a definitive answer for you but I will tell you that even some of the companies are confused.
My guy ordered what Hawk said were the correct pads but when we got them they were too thick to be slid into the calipers. So he had to re-order.

They are definitely NOT the same. The caliper is smaller and sits closer to the rotor hat. If you try to put a 5th Gen pad in, the front side seems to work, but it actually extends past the rotor face surface. The backside pad won't even drop in all the way. It hits the rotor hat. Ask me how I know.... :(
