Ceramic, hands down. Not a fan of wrap. Does not offer anywhere near the protection and I have seen too many examples of wrapped headers causing damage to header pipes.

1 7/8" or 2" what is the difference?
Hello All,
I just bought a 2019 2SS a few months ago and would really love to hear header go to's. I am in Canada so the exchange will probably end up hurting me more than not but I really would like some advice from this educated group. I am going for quality, reliability and of course sound. I have you tubed multiple but these videos I watched don't speak to me like the masses. Please give me any advice you can to a first time Camaro owner. Thanks all |

Get whatever brand you prefer and can afford. It literally doesn't matter if you buy Chinese, American, whatever.

Chinese are crap but go by the gauge thickness that's usually where the problem is not the material or make up. The TSP headers I have had no problems and they are plenty thick.. had them off 2x been on for 2 year still look perfect.. drove 2500 miles to cfest last year zero issue w plug wires.. now making 300 plus rwhp over stock no leaks, no warped flanges nothing.
TSP are the best deal in price and performance. No issues installing did myself and then at Sorians I say them off the car for my 2650 build and they were perfect after 20k miles. Phastek performance is near me I happen to go over one day and Jason and Ricardo showed me the BBK I was impressed with the thickness of them and quality. Borla 1 3/4 are on the thin side I never really saw them till one broke at the collector or wasn't welded good and I swapped them out . of course it was lifetime warranty so no big deal plus they were free since her car was an R&D car. I took a whole 30 mins to swap the drivers side lol. I know we are all proud of what we purchased and there's bragging rights like... mine cost more than yours or the shop said these are the best.. some shops will say we had 1 set not fit properly and that ruins it for a cost effective set.. but I seen post where the high dollar sets had problems to. Don't be afraid to try stuff 599.00 TSP to ARH or GMs 1600.00 set there isn't that much difference to pay over 1000 bucks. I would have no problems running TSP or BBk after seeing them in person or having experience w the TSPs.

I was leaning towards the Kooks headers with high flow cats. Kooks thickness is on the thiner side.
I have always had the TSP headers in mind just haven't heard much feedback on them. I did see that gauge thickness of them are probably the thickest you would see. Is TSP steel American Stainless steel? |

You have no idea what you're talking about. You're just repeating what you've read somewhere. I, on the other hand, have had Chinese headers and so-called "American" headers. There is no difference in fitment, performance, longevity, durability. Plenty of us have bought TSP and OBX and SP and whatever else out there. And there were no issues. In fact, I'd put my money that TSP is one of the top companies when it comes to customer service and quality control of their products. Real world experience trumps what someone happened to read on the internet bro.

With that said, I will not condone your ignorance with any further comment. I am sorry that you are so butthurt.

I bought OBX headers for my 2010 SS Camaro and we had to ding the driver’s side header to clear the steering shaft.
Just throwing it out there to spread more real world experience. When it’s my time to do headers it’ll probably be Kooks and their green cats.

What are the differences in sound and tone between kooks and arh. I am hoping for the smoothest sounding header. Not raspy.

suffice to say, they both sound good, but depending on +/- NPP, +/- secondary cat delete vs high flow cat combos, the same header could sound completely different

Dr Feelgood how does yours sound? My build plan seems to match up to yours.
Also how much power are you putting to the wheels? After my Kooks headers I too plan on a pulley swap. Just trying to get an idea of where might end up. |
