How loud is dual mode exhaust compared to stock?

Hey all,

How loud is dual mode exhaust compared to stock exhaust?

Every dual mode exhaust YouTube video seems to be cheated, by cheated I mean that a stock exhaust could make the same exhaust noise but the driver is just hitting the gas on and off to cheat the sound like its really louder sitting idle.

Please see these two reference videos:

Dual mode exhaust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV52BbSnFfI

Stock exhaust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EMK1jg5zDA

Let me know what you think?

I don't know about the V8, but on the V6 that I've heard, there was an appreciable increase in volume and throatiness. It would be nice to measure with a decibel meter for exact difference.

Dual mode is the way to go. Add headers and delete the cats and it's awesome.

Noticeably louder and I had both and added Npp to my car for the control when I want to be quiet or loud with my cam.

I did muffler deletes on my LS3 and was not impressed. Thought it was gonna be louder the way people on here made it like you were driving a rocket ship through town lol. A stock diesel pickup is louder.

The NPP exhaust really breaks in after about 6,000 miles. At idle is has a good sound and decible level then when you go WOT is gets fairly loud with a great tone. My buddy says I sound like a racecar when I pass him.

I have the dual mode and I love it. Another guy at work doesn't and his just doesn't sound right to me. When I start mine she sounds like a beast!! His sounds... Sad... Lol

My old retired neighbor across the street told me he loves hearing my car when I start it up and go down the road. He said now he's bugging his wife to let him buy exhaust for his truck.

For sure worth it to me.
