How stable are the ZL1 Addons lift points on jack stands?

I've been using just the pinch welds for my jack stands and so far so good but I do want to get something a bit sturdier so I don't fold one over. Has anyone used the ZL1 Addon bolt on lift points with Jack stands? I'm a little worried that they aren't wide enough front to back to be stable and too wide side to side to fit in the jack stand notch. I'm talking about these lift points:

With this style of jack stand:

Super stable. The lift points fit inside the curved part of my jackstands. Rock solid.

There was a warning, on the web site, about NOT using the mag pad or mag puck with Jack stands. I am not sure about the bolt on style. I would contact ZL1addons and ask them.

Good advise. I have contacted ZL1addons directly and am awaiting a response. I even used your pic Eric, and thanks for bringing this up.

Will let you know when I receive a response.

Mike

No worries Eric! I am as interested as you. I sent them your question verbatim, and included a picture of the jack. Here is the response I just received:

From: info@zl1addons.com [mailto:info@zl1addons.com]

Subject: re: How stable are the ZL1 Addons lift points on jack stands?

"Best to lift the car with pinch weld and put jack stand under the sun frame"

I am a bit confused, so I sent this e-mail for further clarification and will let you know the response:

Thanks for the quick response. Much appreciated, but I am a bit confused. What is a “sun frame”, and more specifically, will the ZL1 addon “bolt” be safe to place on this style of jack stand?

Can you kindly clarify. Thanks very much,

Mike

The add on pads that bolt onto the car are fine. They attach to the pinch weld but the solid part goes all the way up to the flat part of the sheet metal. This is what keep them from folding over, they physically cant due to how they are designed and sit.

My guess is that he meant sub frame. But if that's the case I'd like to know where on the subframe he thinks jack stands can go.

I'm not worried about the actual part being able to handle the weight or not, I'm worried if they are so small and smooth that the jack stands have the potential to shift when lifting the car and have the jack stands slide off of them sideways (the lift points are angled).

Do you happen to have a photo of a jackstand under one of these or if they are off the car right now would you mind taking a photo showing the size of them relative to a jack stand in the area that it would be sitting?

I posted a picture in this thread how these sit on the jack stands
http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=21

I would have liked it if jack stand could fit under these in a T manner but they were pinching against the rocker panel.
I don't trust the setup if I need to work underneath the car so built a pair of wooden ramps.

I gotta be honest, those pics give me anxiety. I was worried about putting the jack stands the other way. The way you did it looks like a death trap.

Either way, thanks for linking so that I can get an idea of the size.

I have my jack stand 90 degrees rotated from the above thread's pictures. They're super solid.

I have Torin's 3 ton model with the locking pins and they won't fit like you have mentioned...just not enough clearance from rocker panel.
