Florida resident here, I experienced this same frustrating fogging. A solution was posted earlier here, and it works. I got a 4 foot section of "commercial vinyl baseboard" cut it to 18 inches and placed it over the vent. Lowes has black and grey in stock at my local store. It has a lip on one end that tucks between the windshield and dash, so it doesn't slide around. I haven't had time to do a more custom cut but it will be easy to do. this solution appealed to me rather than have the local Chevy dealer tear out the dash.

Did you use the heavy vinyl stuff? Maybe I'm not giving it enough gas, I am still in break - in mode.

Yeah. I bought it from Lowes. I have had it fly off 3 times now. I am not in break in mode

I got to experience this really bad on the way to a track event early in the morning this past weekend. The amount of air that leaks out of the defrost vent is unreal. I tried every combination of settings, but there was ALWAYS air leaking. It was getting so bad, I had to pull over and grab a detailing towel out of my trunk and stuff it on top of the vent. Blocking the air of course fixed it, but there shouldn't be any air leaking out, period.
I just started researching this and I've read maybe 10 pages worth on a couple different threads. So I don't have to go back and read 30 pages of posts, is there any fix for this yet?

They do have a fix, but it involves taking the windshield out so the tech can snake a camera down and cut off pieces of foam.
