E85 GAINS ON 2016 1SS A8

So I just wanted some feedback to see if people thought my numbers are accurate to what they should be. The graph I attached is of the final e85 run.

Here are my current mods:
  • Rotofab CAI
  • VMAX ported throttle body
  • Stainless Works 1 7/8 headers (no cats)
  • Stainless Works 3 inch exhaust
  • Flex Fuel

93 tune:
410whp, 433wtrq

e85 tune:
451whp, 472wtrq

The gains from pump to e85 seems right.

Your numbers seem a little low compared to what I got. I was about the same hp but without headers or exhaust. I did have all 4 cats deleted. I was also on a dynojet.

See that's what I figured. I even told my mechanic. I was happy but I was expecting 470whp/490trq. A little enthusiastic I know, but in the ballpark.

Even at 460 I would have been estatic.

Without a baseline and knowing which correction factor (if one was even used), it's moot.

Could just of been a hot day and a correction factor wasnt used and it could be really high numbers

Or could be a low reading dyno and you have really high numbers

Or vice versa

I saw it was in standard so I know that much. As far as correction factor I wouldn't know what to tell you, I would have to talk with my tuner.

I have heard from other people that the dyno does read low.

My concern is that I put down 426whp/449wtrq on 93 the very first time I tuned the car which was about a year and some 20k miles ago. It didn't do nearly as well on the 93 baseline when we started tuning for e85.

I have never seen over a 25rw gain with E. NEVER. 41rw on E is a bit ridiculous. So either the pump gas tune was way off or something is up.

I don't think the numbers are all that low if at all for an A8 in what I will assume is 5th gear. 6th gear would have shown 20-30rw depending on the car. The STD correction factor will inflate those numbers 10-12rw over SAE though. A ported IM would have helped you out a bit.

I just watched the video of the last pull and it sounds like he went up to 6th gear.

I've been considering a ported manifold but given that I'm eventually going to do forced induction, my mechanic advised me against it due to cost vs performance.

Here is a link of the last run so everyone can see for themselves.

So the base line was in 5th and the final pull was in 6th? I guess that could make sense.

Oh I have no idea, I really wasn't paying attention when he was doing the baseline.

You're saying 5th gear would show a lower number?

Yes, 5th gear is a 1.27, 6th gear is the 1:1. I have seen no less than a 20rw gain from 5th to 6th and I have seen some cars as high as 30+rw. 5th gear will always show lower numbers.

Got it thank you for taking the time to explain my friend, I guess I'm understanding the nature of the numbers better and now I don't feel as bad haha
