I've always been a Camaro guy never much into Corvettes, but the C7 Z06 is so cool!

Was going to order a C7 Z06 but the bad publicity it is having with overheating issues and the ECU pulling timing when the motor heats up effectively killed it for me. Car should be fine for street use, but heat issues at the track made me pull the trigger on a Z/28 today. I almost bought a Viper at the beginning of the week as there are steals out there ($56,000 under original MSRP on the one I was negotiating) but the Z/28 still cost me $30,000 less.

Even if the Camaro only gets the LT1 & LT4 you can give the Z/28 the LT1 but with a much more aggressive track set up (brakes, suspension, tire, etc) unless team Camaro is afraid of the the Z/28 being "downgraded" to 1LE status. Heck they don't need to offer a Z/28 again until they feel like they can really do something special. I rather they do that then dilute the name/image, kind of what they did with the Z/28s on the 4th gens..

Just my thoughts..

Today, there is a unique engine for the 1LE, ZL1 and Z/28.

Either GM gets a new engine in that mix with the Gen 6 or they will have significant overlap.

Could simply be the 1LE becomes the base SS. The Z/28 is then the handling package on top of that and the ZL1 gets the LT4.

I don't believe that the Z/28 will be SC simply because the people that turned the Z28 into to ZL1 are still running the show for Camaro. It would be interesting to hear them both explain why it was important enough then but not now.

I still predict GM takes the LT1 and "massages" it to 500 or so HP and we have what we do today.

Would also make a nice Grand Sport engine.

But we have to wait and see.

^I'll agree with this. You can't go backward now. Obviously the public has reacted in a large way with the 5Gen, why change design and sales models now?

Part of the issue, if that is the right word, is the 1LE has become a model rather than being looked at as a handling or track pack. It has a life of it's own now.

It is well earned. What does the 1LE package look like if the 6th Gen comes with MRC and other handling tweaks? What is a 1LE in the 6th Gen?

Yes, I see that as an opportunity.

MRC, dry sump, 6 piston fronts, electronic limited slip rear diff, and the required super sticky tires that crack in temps under 40 degrees.

I agree and add a slight HP bump, forged wheels and better aero.

What would you run suspension wise? I know a lot of people want MRC but I like how my 1LE rides now. Would you go MRC, monotube dampers or the DSSVs of the Z/28?
