Hafa Adai Fellow Camaro6ers,

Looking to simply replace my 2016 Camaro SS spark plugs.

My current mods are JRE tune, TSP headers w/o cats, tsp xpipe, CAI CAI, Pray Ported IM, and Katech Ported TB.

When I do spark plugs I also plan to add the MSD wires, do you guys recommend running the stock AC Delco Plugs? Or can I run NGK?

When looking for NGK I can’t seem to find a cross reference number, anyone know what they threw in theirs? Any reason to do a step colder? Can you please provide a part number?

What is our spark plug lifetime? I would just stick to stock plugs and wires unless yours is touching headers.

After cross-referencing all over I was able to figure out which plugs to buy a month ago an if I remember correctly ACDELCO to NGK, is 5 heat range stock, so this would be the plug.

I'm running a set of brisk that are two steps colder as I plan to spray nitrous here soon, and I went with a set of speed engineering wires. All was changed out at 29k miles when I put long tubes on my car.

Stock uses a project style plug, which would be RR14YS.

If you wanted a stock heat range plug, then you'd need a 17 in brisk, which is a 5 for NGK.

I think the SS stock heat range is a 6.

A couple performance sites list: NGK IRIDIUM IX LTR7IX-11 PERFORMANCE SPARK PLUGS HEAT RANGE 7 for nitrous/fi. And I think that’s only one step colder than stock.

So maybe a NGK (6509) LTR6IX-11 Iridium IX?

Go to a parts house an ask for plugs. The heat ranges on those plugs will be::

Stock AC Delco plug is a "16"
Bosch plug is a "8"
Denso is a "16"

Because I couldn't find a AC Delco heat chart, you have to look at other plugs that we can chart to get an idea of what heat range our plugs are. Based on the Bosch and Denso OE replacements, I concluded our stock plugs are a NGK 5.

Awesome! Thanks for the cross reference chart.

So I could use the NGK LTR6IX if I wanted to be one step colder then, should the mods listed on my SS in Post#1 work well with that? Or should I stick with the NGK 5 heat range?

So after further digging this is what I have concluded for options for the Camaro SS cars:

1. Stock AC Delcos
2. NGK LTR5IX-11 Iridium IX Spark Plug (4344) Stock Heat Range
3. NGK (6509) LTR6IX-11 Iridium IX One Step Colder
4. Brisk USA RR15YS One Step Colder
5. Brisk USA RR17YS Stock Heat Range

So I have decided to go with MSD Wires (33829) and NGK (6509) LTR6IX-11 Iridium IX One Step Colder. Got them from Summit with free shipping and discount.

I set them to .035.

Stick with a stock heat range plug on a stock to mildly modified engine. going to a colder plug is going to cost you power and efficiency otherwise.
