How do they run the assembly line?

Was just curious if they run a string of 1SS's, Then a string of 2SS, LT1's, etc... or are they all different models running down the assembly line?

Just guessing but they probably have a schedule of what number of cars need to be produced for each trim and options that they need and build those consecutively

simply put it looks like your general idea should be right they have the production schedule mapped out for entire quarters based off of sales projections and schedule overtime based on how far ahead or behind they are

Like I said this is all a guess and I'm going off of my experience of working with for a manufacturing plant I'm not that knowledgeable on what goes on in detail as I'm an office person but the overall concepts seem like they'd stay the same

All color, makes, models, etc. run down the same line and the same time. At least that's the way it was 2 years ago at the Oshawa Plant tour I was lucky enough to participate in

I am very confident that the plant still operates that way. There should be no batch building as efficient as this plant would be. An SS could be followed by an LS. I did hear that the 1LEs and ZL1s split off from the standard assembly line at some point., but I have no proof of that.
