Koni Shocks
I had Koni SA shocks on my 4th gen and thought the damping characteristics were great. I reached out to them to see if they planned to make shocks for the 6th gen and here's the response I got:
" Thank you for your continued interest in KONI shocks. Yes, we are actively looking at the ‘16+ Camaro and it will be application that we support. It is still in the very early stages of development, but we are hoping to have something available mid-2018. Mason O’Hara Technical Sales Representative KONI - an ITT company" With that said, I would really like to see their shocks optimized for the SS 1LE suspension kit (that does not include shocks): https://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/suspe...45?parent=1034

Yea...thats what most who contacted em this year posted back.
Except they were saying by THIS years end. Now its mid 2018 and "early stages". It sucks that it doesnt sound too reassuring. Its like if a company were to ship your parts. And it would be there by the end of the year... then next time ya hear about em, they're like, we just started ,check back in half a year.... http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...ghlight=Shocks http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...ghlight=Shocks 1 or two called in about it. Its the waiting game as usual. Will believe it when i see it i guess... good stuff though, just wish they had their stuff in motion

We have asked about these as well, and have not gotten a time frame on when they will be available for us to order. I will let you know if we hear anything.

coming from a BRZ, its amazing how long it takes for places to come out with parts for this car. Honestly i remember coilovers and shocks being available for the brz before the car was event out! lol

I went to tirerack.com and put in my car info.
They seem to indicate koni yellows and bilstein B6 shocks are available, in stock. I might have to call them and see what the deal is. |

As I expected, the Koni 8741-1563LSPORT is for the 5th gen, same as the Bilstein 35-245728

I emailed koni to confirm that just to make sure and they even said they won’t fit. Idk what their deal is. Normally tire rack is better than that.

Interesting - I checked TR last night and shows nothing available for the 6th gen.
I am considering the factory handling package which is shocks and springs, but also might wait to see what Koni comes up with - seems Koni / BMR might be a pretty good combo. |
