Sam Strano got a 6th gen!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/6thg...1195825784671/

Sam Strano got a 6th gen (SS 1LE). I'm interested to see if he ends up tracking it and offering any parts for this platform like he did for 3rd/4th gens.

I'm sure he'll offer something. I'll be keeping watch. We have his springs paired with Koni shocks on the T/A.

I had a white 2000 SS with the same Forgeline wheels he ran SCCA with in his 4th gen. I think he even offered to buy them once on the LS1 forums for an extra set since they were discontinued

Koni shocks were great on that platform! On my '00 Z28, I was running 1LE springs, 1LE front swaybar, and Koni SA shocks - this totally transformed the handling of the car.

I had his springs and Koni shocks on my 1998 Z28. Great setup. Sam is a no nonsense guy and was great to do business with back in the day.

I'm curious what he can offer to improve on the SS 1LE that isn't already available.

Most know that the biggest change you can make to that sub-model is the solid rear cradle bushings.

Other than that, is will be hard to beat the MRC from a shock/spring POV.

The Alpha chassis, especially in SS 1LE form doesn't need anything else really.

^ Nope. And the car is better than 97% of those who drive it.

I agree, but still interested in if there's anything he decides could be improved and if he starts offering anything particularly for the non-1LE SS cars.

On a different note but somewhat related, many years ago I was looking at getting a GT500 back in 2013 and knew it needed suspension help, so me living not too far from Petaluma, took a drive to Griggs racing which is known for turning the Mustang chassis into a world class handler.

Anyhow Mr. Griggs (forgot his first name) had a C6 Z06 as his daily driver. I always think it is rather ironic that some of the Mustang chassis performance shop owner icons drive Chevy products. Just goes to show you how long GM has dominated the handling/chassis department in the pony car wars.

Wink

Sam Strano is a very experienced guy, he tracks his cars and sells parts that he recommends based on his experience with them.

I remember that he help me improve the suspension of my prior '11 Mustang GT 5.0 to the point that I was able to compete at the track in the same level of performance of a BMW M3 V8 car, just by buying from him: Steeda springs, KONY Shocks, F&R adjustable sway bars plus some wider tires. I was very satisfied with those upgrades.
I don't have any doubts that if he recommends something for our Camaros it would be something worth it

Another phenomenal Fox body suspension shop is Maximum Motorsports. Their "Grip in a box" systems turn Mustangs into serious cornering beasts. But those cars needed a boatload of help. These Alpha chassis cars, especially 1LE's, are supercar beaters.
