my 2SS with Nav has CarPlay and AA and it works through the bluetooth. I use CarPlay and IIRC it doesn't pair automatically just because the phone is paired, you have to set it up in the CarPlay menu in MyLink. FWIW, I have NAV on my SS and my XT5, and never use it. I like Waze much better, and if you are linking via CarPlay, Waze is an "approved" app that will share with the car screen. Waze will tell you to take a different route if the one you're on becomes backed up. It also tells you where the cops are (as long as a previous "Wazer" has flagged it, which you can do as well, right on your MyLink screen). I don't mind plugging the phone in either, keeps it charged up. I have the ProClip console mount and ran a USB from the console compartment, tucked under the passenger side console bottom edge, to the mount, so it's hidden and stays in place and doesn't flop all over. Slide the phone in the mount and plug the Lightning (Apple) connector in that's zip-tied to the mount. Quick and easy!

My '21 came with wireless AA. I didn't think it was that big of a deal either, until I started using it. It's really nice to just get in, start it up, and everything works. No cables running anywhere, no making sure you've got a good connection.
It's kinda like keyless entry, or push button start. Pay a bunch of money (back when it was an option) just so I don't have to use a key to open the door or start it? Ridiculous! But you get used to it pretty quickly. It's convenient as heck, even if it's not a necessity. |

So yes I am 100% biased however once I added wireless charging it was a no brainer for me. Nothing in my cup holder/passenger seat etc. I think for those with IOS this is a very reasonable upgrade considering you also get factory nav and of course HD radio to boot.

Those things also work via the USB port. If you have AA already, check the AA menu in the MyLink settings for specific pairing separate from the phone pairing menu. I recently had to re-pair my phone with my XT5 to get ACP to work even though the phone was connected and working. Not sure how it all works with the non Nav units, but seems to me if you have AA it should function via Bluetooth just like mine.

i think what some guys are missing with this upgrade is that there is more to it than just navigation, wireless car play and HD radio which is all great but for me it is all about the Head Up Display, you can add the additional cost custom cluster programing so your nav is projected to the HUD just like a car ordered with factory nav. when route guidance is in the HUD is very convenient.

Okay, so I looked at my window sticker. I have ACP but not AA. Maybe AA came along later like Fran says?
If you look at the options section where it lists MyLink, it says "select bluetooth streaming". It will stream audio wirelessly without activating ACP. I can access my iPhone (iPod function) by selecting the "Media" button on the audio screen of MyLink. I can browse playlists, etc right on the MyLink screen. And the newer cars project Nav on the HUD? Mine does not do that I don’t think. I know I have a speedo with bar tach, and another that shows what’s playing on the audio, but don’t recall seeing Nav info. I think it displays on the DIC, though. I’ll check later today.

i cant remember for sure but it seems like the newer nav versions are improved from My Link to the new Infotainment 3 system.
i Had My Link in my 18 2500HD and if i remember, it seemed a little more basic than newer version that is in my 2020HD and what i just added to the Camaro.
