Livernois ZL-1 build
After a couple months searching this forum and reaching out to several shops I’ve decided on working with Livernois Motorsports. The Team at Livernois has been great to work with and I’m excited to get this project moving forward.
This will be the first of two stages of the build, LME in Houston TX. will be providing the cylinder head service and Livernois Motorsports out of Dearborn Heights MI. will be providing all Labor and engine components. Stage 1: Livernois Motorsports genV high lift camshaft. 228/240 @ .050 .646/.646. 116LSA DOD delete ARH 2” long tubes with off road X pipe into factory muffler Intervator west balancer 9.55” lower pulley LME CNC ported LT-4 cylinder head Package. MAMO TB CAI Stage 2: Whipple 2.9 Flex Fuel Lingenfelter DI fuel injectors and pump Not sure what kind of power it will make at the end of each stage but the full Benefit of stage one won’t be seen until Stage two is complete. Won’t be able to get it in the shop until first part of May but weather will be just right when I get it back home. Will plan on completing stage two in the fall, would like to thank everyone who has posted build packages and real world data in this forum that inspired me to move forward. I’ll post the results once it’s complete. |

skip the lingenfelter DI and go to the Weapon-X port injection...
And I am guessing you talked to Livernois about doing the whipple 2.9 in the future. It may or may not pair well with that cam. Just a thought... That cam may have been developed to work well with the stock blower...and the stock heads. Same with the heads from LME. You have chosen all good quality parts, but I would want to make sure everything will work well together and that one change wont throw off the balance of the parts as a whole. |

Looks pretty good. I've worked with Livernois before (They're about 45 minutes from me) and they're solid guys. If Stage 1 is on 93, then I'd guess 700-730 RWHP, maybe a touch more on their Dyno-jet. Stage 2 with proper Heads/Cam will be well over 800 RWHP and could border on 900 RWHP. I agree with Jacobs above, make sure that LME and Livernois know that the cam and heads will be re-used with a much larger blower at much bigger power numbers. They'll probably tell you the Cam/Heads that you used will be fine.

Gonna be a beast! Just to jump on the band wagon, mods need to work together to be effective. Otherwise drivability, reliabity and effectiveness are compromised. I would make sure they explained to me how all of the mods compliment each other. When I built my GTO Josh at Spartan went to great lengths to explain how the cam complimented the heads, how the work on the heads worked with the intake, rear gears, etc. Pretty obvious I know, but nothing is more frustrating than a mis matched application of modifications to a great car. Enjoy!!!!!!

Great points of interest guys, yes everyone involved is aware of stage 2, if you take a look at the LME flow numbers on the Exhaust side you can see the exceptional flow numbers. These will compliment the increased volume from the 2.9. The Livernois GenV cam has 12 degrees more exhaust duration to hang that valve open longer to expel all that volume and allow that exhaust port to work as intended. Just for reference here’s a flow comparison.
Stock: LME In./Ex. In./Ex. .100. 69/54. 75/60 .200. 148/119. 146/127 .300. 225/158. 217/182 .400. 278/184. 286/235 .500. 294/197. 323/249 .600. 307/201. 354/257 .700. 318/204. 372/260 To maintain such good mid lift flow numbers and achieve these peak flow numbers is a great piece of work. Let’s not forget that the stock LT-4 heads are a great piece as is. This is what’s great about these forums, we have a great source of knowledge and backgrounds here. Just a little about myself, been building dirt modified chassis and engines for 25 years. Have a SF600 and a Land and Sea water brake engine Dyno. I learn something new everyday, enjoy reading all of the members comments, I Expect to see a few fuel systems to hit the market this summer and I will take advantage of any new plug and play system that Emerges. |

They’ve been around a long time. We use to buy parts for our “D gas” nova from them when they were a speed shop back in the 60’s. Yes their a class act and as professional as they come. May have a different approach then most in the industry but you must stay true to what got you where you are.

Just received the baseline Dyno from Livernois, 597HP and 585TQ. These are the best numbers out of Three pulls. Not to bad for the Mano TB alone.

Very Nice Numbers. Have been so busy , that I still have not scheduled the transport for one of my beasts to head that way. May wait till I leave the country an have car picked up while I am gone.
They are top notch on every level. |
