2.9 secs on the 59K base model? That is insane.

So far, I'm very impressed with GM's reinvention of the Corvette. I watched a video on Motor Trend featuring Ed Loh sitting in the interior, and it looked awesome! If you were to cover the steering wheel emblem, you would truly never guess that it was a GM product.

Pffff
The <3” will never be the <60000$ .... They are mixing all numbers in one advertising spot! Remember M6 vs A10 (.5 difference) Think about the options and not the basic car Comparing a RS and a ZL1 1LE.... Plus dealer will add 10k ish to the MSRP, you won’t see one below 60k$ They really changed the look, Want to see the C8 Z06 (probably 750 ish to target the GT 500) Or C8 ZR1 (probably 1000 to kill them all) |

I think there is only one transmission option. And I think the reason the base was a tad slower was the all season tires.

its not going to have all season tires. the z51 is faster because the transmission has better gearing. If your dealer marks it up then find a different dealer. I know 3 dealers that never mark up and have said they will not mark up this car they will be MSRP for the 2020 model. Ya there is only 1 transmission offering. its a dual clutch. a manual that can shift by its self or can be shifted like a manual with the paddle shifters. yes it does start under $60k and the difference between the base model and and the Z51 is like a 2SS vs a 2SS/1LE.

I confess, I am not a vette guy.
Always wanted a 59 or 62. Appreciated the coke bottle ones of the 70's. Maybe the Vette community is all over this, but it doesn't look like a Vette, looks like something an upstart would design. That interior isolates the driver from the passenger like nothing I have ever seen. Certain the performance will be there. Under $60K, will cannibalize some Camaro sales. And we thought we had no trunk space.
