Thanks.
Trade up to a ZL1 to actually see a tangible upgrade in terms of enjoyment, the 2020 SS has few appreciable differences. Colorwise I can heartily recommend garnet red after your hyper blue

Thanks for all the good suggestions. Upon further reflection and realizing that going from a ‘17 to a ‘20 1LE would be silly, I picked up my new ZL1, with M6. yesterday.

Good deal. I'm sure you'll find it to be a very entertaining car.

I DD an 03 Cobra for about 3.5 years. It wasn't the fastest car out there only being your typical 500 whp/500 lb-ft bolton Terminator, but it was strong, made power everywhere in its curve, and back in the mid-2000 that was a good bit of power for a DD. People say you get used to the power a car makes, but I never got bored with that car, and it never felt slow to me. I was always impressed with its power and acceleration for how refined and trouble free it was when just riding around. It made passing people driving slow on a 2 lane road a fun affair so to speak. Anyway the point I'm getting at about my Terminator is that a positive displacement blower car makes for a very fun street car. (I've had my GEN2 Lightning for many years) If a ZL1 responds to mods the way a Terminator does you'll love it. The HP gains per dollar, and per simple mods is very rewarding, especially for the reliability and streetability that come with them. Have fun with it, just remember to respect the power they are capable of producing with a few mods.

If you are riding a zx 14 R , then the Upgrade to a ZL1 from the 1 SS was a no brainer ...you definitely have the need for speed ...a pic of the 2 beasts side by side would be nice

Good job, especially with how low miles you had didn't seem to make sense to get basically the same car. I been fighting the Zl1 upgrade myself. But I would have to go used and I am scared to give up the new car I bought and know for a used 1 I don't know.

I have a 2015 z06 that makes 650 whp and 675 wtq and it only has just over 5,000 miles on it so I haven't driven it a bunch but that began to get "slow" to me and I purchased a car that makes 850 whp 820 wtq and I quickly realized the Zo6 was slow lol. My zl1 1le is stock and it feels like 4 cylinder at 650/650 crank

Kind of like shootin" dope. Always needing more. But, I didn't mod the 1LE and I'm not modding the ZL1. Why you ask? Well, I have the ZX-14R for that. It makes 200 whp, and weighs about 550 lbs. That's about 1400 hp in a 3800 lb car. You ride them out of the dealer, and if you're a drag racer, they'll do mid 9's at 150. And, they are docile. 45 mph all day in 6th gear, if you want, and it's like a sewing machine.

What a time to be a motor head!

Yes sir. Had a cbr1000rr until a dog ran out in front of me and i tried to miss it as I have a dog myself and I ended up with a broken back. Never bought another bike. My first love is cars and If i couldn't shift my manual performance cars i would hate it so no more bikes for me. I do have a snowmobile thats faster 0-60 on the snow than any of my cars though so that keeps me sane through the winters in NH.

Had many CBR's. Great bikes. Glad you came out OK from that crash.

Try something older, more raw, and less refined like a 600 WHP Foxbody, or C5Z, large single turbo MKIV Supra, FD RX7 with a built LSx, etc. If something like a H/C/I/exhaust/tune C6Z feels slow to you then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe a 1,500 WHP GTR would feel fast to you? Even my stock SS doesn't feel slow to me. It's certainly not a make you butt pucker kind of fast, but it's plenty strong for a DD. I do wish it had a little more top-end power. Maybe one day I'll do a H/C/I/bolton build with it, and IMO if this car had 500+ N/A WHP it would be about perfect for me. You're ZL1 1LE might feel like a nicely modded EVO VIII/IX with a lot more lowend torque.

I knowthis a car forum, but the solution is t buy a ZX-14R for $14,000, flash it and put an exhaust on it and you have a 200+ whp machine that will do 9"s all day and get 40 mpg on the highway. Want more, gear it down a little, because it's got 190+ mph gearing.

But, I digress.
