Paint

Freind Pulled engine on his ls7 vette to rebuild and orange paint on main caps and rods any idea. Origanal owner.

Pretty sure all LS7 engines were hand built at Wixom Performance Center. I found some videos of the build process - link below. Starting close to the 1 minute mark, they are installing crank & bearing caps. You can see the red/orange markings.

Paint does not create stress risers like stamped location and orientation marks does. Hand built - I'm guessing that file-fit rings were used.
