I wish mine would go out under warranty it would save 2500 on pulling the motor for a cam job

Yup. They know all about it. The question is: are they replacing with an updated part or will be spending another week in the shop with another failed pump? Come in GM: issue a Tsb. Better yet, a recall...isn’t this a safety issue?

I wonder how labor intensive is it to change the pump. I guess maybe pulling the engine may be the simplest way and that'll give me the chance to install a cam while I'm at it. lol.

Is the replacement oil pump the same part? Is so won't it just eventually fail again? How is everyone's replacement oil pump so far?

I would assume it is like anything else, just a bad batch not part number specific.

My GT350 had a recall on the oil connections that the rubber was not crimped tightly on the aluminum connections to the oil cooler.

Ford withdrew my recall and did nothing. I guess it magically fixed itself.

Same part number when I had mine done. Another poster had 2 failed pumps. GM has neither addressed via TSB, recall or otherwise.

I'm the one with a second failed pump. It's BS. I read the notes from the engineers to the dealer, they aren't admitting anything about bad parts. They said maybe something got in the oil (dirt, metal?) during the install of the first oil pump which may have caused the second pump to fail...

Are the corvettes having the same problem? I think mine was built in may 2018

I haven't heard of anyone having issues with anything except the 2018 ZL1. I do believe the Corvette uses a different pump since it's dry sump.

Wet-sump C7 is the same part number as the ZL1, as is the Camaro SS and CTS-V. Unless they stopped building them, the base model Stingray (non-Z51 or GS) has a wet-sump LT1.

I have a build date of July 2017, MY 18, 3300 miles no issues so far. Looks like I could be in the sweet spot for a bad pump. No Mods for awhile.

my 2010 SS (LS3 motor) had an oil pump failure. GM replaced it under warrantee.

Interesting how GM seems to always have issues with oil pumps?
