I changed from 93 to E85 on my procharged 2015 mustang .. Best thing I ever did .. went from 600 HP to 669 HP .. Had to up grade my injectors to ID1000 and add a GT 350 twin pump in the tank .. Worth every penny to go from 10s to 9.80s with E85 ..We are lucky here in FL to have a Thornton's gas stations ..Every time I checked the E85 it tested to be E83 ...

Thanks. Its going to be similar HP if I were running VP 109 but just a lot cheaper and should run cooler also. I think it will be a good thing for sure.

I did the flex fuel sensor. a few months back. I have E15 & E85 at the pump in the Chicago burbs. $1.72gal on avg vs $3 for 93. I feel like I'm stealing gas from the pump and the car runs well on anything I put in the tank........

That's what I'm hoping for, cheap E and high horse power.

Wait. I thought you only wanted to run e because it is better for the environment. That’s the only reason I switched to E...

It's not really a true cost difference since E85 gets significantly less fuel economy. The national e85 average is a 17% difference in cost and 20% less fuel economy. So E85 is cheaper to buy, but costs more per mile to operate. The real reason is the ability to make more power and the cost savings over race fuel.

$1.72 vs. $3.00 is more like a 43% difference. I'm sure prices vary depending on location but the 17% delta must be compared to 87 octane regular.

Not true because we have to run premium. When you calculate 93 vs E85, it still ends up costing 4-7.00 per tank less to run E even though you get less mileage with E. I have done the math and ran it both ways plenty of times.

For cars that can run 87 then E85 doesn't save anything.

No, I'm literally looking out my work window at a Thorntons and its E85 $2.09 and 87 $2.16 and 93 $2.46. There are differences but the cost to operate is not this big difference people that use the initial E85 cost savings make it out to be.

I'm not doing because of the cost of premium, I haven't run that in over a year. I run VP109 all the time because I really only drag race it. Even when I went out today and drove 40 miles I had race fuel in it and trying to burn that out to switch over this weekend hopefully and then dyno the next weekend. Our E70 right now is 1.64 but if your comparing our 93 octane is 2.99. Today my car wit as getting 17 mpg on race fuel. Haha, funny on that one.

87 is currently 2.45 in South west Fort Wayne, Premium is 2.90. E85 is 2.05. I don't run it for cost saving anyway.

Also just because you seen the price ratio very close at this present time does not mean it's always that way. For the majority of last season Premium was 3.30-3.45 and E85 was around 2.20.

After running on e...NEVER go back...cleaner, faster, more power. Love it.
