MRT 2.0 or Flowmaster American Thunder
I had the MRT 2.0 on my 2010. Was great with a little drone that crept up as time went by. I now have a 2018 and not sure if I want to go with the same OR the Flowmaster American Thunder.... both Axle back. Any thoughts? I want to pull the trigger soon before I change my mind.

+1 for the American thunder. Love mine. It’s got a great little idle and low rumble when just cruising along and a nice loud tone when you get on it. It’s never raspy or high pitched, compliments the car well. If anyone tells you it drones, they’ve never had it.

I have the American Thunder and really like it. Sounds aggressive, and loud above 5k rpm. I've never heard the MRT so can't comment.

It's not headache inducing, but it's there around 2k to 3k RPMs. Not everybody may be annoyed by it, but it is there. To the OP...It does make a nice sound. I am very happy with the purchase. |

OP: Excellent thread! I had the MRT2's on my 2013. . . I totally loved the sound when I gave it the beans - especially through long underpasses or tunnels - but the highway drone could get old on long trips.
Just bought a 2016 and was hoping to find some options from the forum. This thread is gold as I haven't heard of the Flowmaster American Thunder, but it's obviously worth consideration! Has anyone got any YouTube videos of their modified exhaust systems available to check out?

Might be able to do a real video but that’s what it sounded like during idle after install. |

I have an MRT V1. It drones but not during cruising speeds. So it's no problem at all to drive for hours and hours without being an issue (been on many long trips).
If you do most of your driving in residential sections where the speed limit is 25-30, then you will have problems. If you like to talk to people in your car while not cruising on the highway, you will have problems. It does sound very nice though. If none of the above are an issue. |

I installed the axle back American thunder two weeks after owning my 2018 RS and don't regret it. The cold starts just sound mean compared to stock not to mention when you get on it people definitely know you're coming.. |
