Either way, you know GM will not do this.

Looks like GM mixed up the front ends on the Blazer and Camaro. Shouldn't the Blazer have the Camaro's front blackout bumper?

This looks like a 4 door Camaro. I like it better than the new Camaro.

Those that argue the buying public won’t care may be right, but that’s because the majority don’t care what the car is called. Hell, they could have called it the Pigeon or XYZ123 and most people wouldn’t notice.

I’m 28 and when I think of Blazer, I think of the 70s version. Sure, I’m an enthusiast but that doesn’t mean only young enthusiast know about those K5s.

They could have dropped this on the Colorado chassis and used the ZR2 upgrades for the Trailblazer, then tossed some other name on the discount Acadia.

Don’t like it and the Blazer name on an oversized RAV4 wannabe? Oh the humanity.

Interesting that they borrowed somewhat from the Camaro. I am not a crossover kinda guy (I have a real Jeep), but this one does look kind of cool.

FWIW, I did go offroad in a K5 Blazer in the 70s...

As far as looks, yes, I give it a thumbs up.
And I think this hits a solid niche in what is the hottest market segment now

Should GM have named it something else... I think the argument is a waste of time.

There is one segment that is STILL wide open that I wish GM would fill and that is the Full Size 2 door SUV.

Bring back the 2 door Tahoe. I know it won't happen... but I think it would sell very well..

And that sucks!
A 2 door SUV makes no sense. The only appeal that a 2 door anything has over 4 would be appearance. In cars, coupes have a sleeker roofline than their sedan counterpart. Try that on a crossover or SUV, and well ... it always looks terrible. So to not look like a horrible abomination, you'd need to keep a traditional profile. In which case ... whats the point of only having 2 doors? It looks the same as its 4 door counterpart, with the added bonus of being harder to carry people in (and 'better at carrying people' is why people tend to like utilities over pickup trucks). Even if you just want to have a single row of seats with a cargo area in the back, you'd be better served with a capped pickup.

Coupe versions of sedans have been so bad over the last decade or two that automakers rarely even offer them. Camaro sales are down. Corvette sales are down. Mustang sales are down. (Challenger seems to be holding steady). Miata sales are down. 2 door pickups are falling out of favour as well.

People clearly aren't clamouring for 2 door vehicles. So what, exactly, makes you think that there is demand enough for GM to invest millions upon millions in a 2 door SUV? Just because you want one, and a buddy that you talk to agrees it would be nice, doesn't mean that there is widespread demand.

I mean besides the Wrangler which is more or less in its own segment, I think the Range Rover Evoque is the only 2 door SUV available. And people (even those who can afford them) aren't exactly breaking down Land Rover dealers' doors to get one.

Not to mention Wrangler 4 door (Unlimited) easily outsells it's 2 door counterpart, believe 2:1.

Nobody is going to make what is essentially a Wrangler fighter without four doors, or at least a 4 door variant.

At minimum, something like the FJ cruiser could work, with its semi hidden rear doors.

Here is said to be the fastest upcoming 2 door SUV available, maybe one of the most expensive too at $270,000+ 2019 Range Rover SV Coupe - That is sure one big ass door!!!

I stated this in another thread. but I don't like it. I mean the looks are ok, but to me a "Blazer" is a RWD. there seem to be to many FWD vehicles. how many mid segments do they need? just doesnt' seem true to its roots at all. I do like the looks of it. just should have named it different I guess.
