When the tube install the sound stiff will also go. You should not have to remove when you go in for service.adding a cai doesn’t void your warranty. But if you service department are stickler for stuff then removing would be a good idea. Mine doesn’t care one way or another

I'm not sure how my dealer is, but for the 10 minutes it would take to put the stock tube back on, I'd rather not even take a chance just in case. From my understanding the Airaid tube has a port to hook up the sound tube (just like the stock tube) or you can simply delete it

That's great to hear..

I ordered the intake tube and the K&N filter a few days ago. Between this and the FM American thunder Axel back I have it should give me a little bit more performance.

No sound tube on the Airaid piece. It comes with some plug to delete it.

That's interesting. I actually called Airaid and they said it had a port like the stock unit to run the sound tube, or I could simply delete it. Good to know. Thanks

So essentially I should just pick up the tube and KN? Which KN is the best? Was going to go with a full CAI but this looks like it should work and with my new MRT 2.0 would be fine.

There only one K&N drop in filter that will fit the stock air box

Yes there's only one K&N panel type filter for our cars. Fits like the stock one. There are other choices for panel style filters as well...doesn't have to be a K&N. I myself want a dry filter, so I'm considering an Airaid or AEM dry filter

Well it looks like Airaid was wrong and you guys were right...there is no provision to run the sound tube with this unit. So my question now is, will intake noise be lounder with the Airaid tube and sound tube delete, or louder with the stock intake tube and WITH the sound tube? Anyone know?

What's the purpose of unplugging the battery when installing the intake tube? Is it to reset the ECU so it recognizes different air flow when it starts back up?

Mine should be in today. Decided to order one based on the reviews on this thread for $98.xx. Seems like a good bang for your buck mod and a ton of savings over the full kits. After reading this thread as a lurker i looked for more reviews and as already alluded to earlier, the Chevy truck community loves these "AIRAID JR." tubes.

Hey let me know how it sounds with the Airaid and sound tube delete if you don't mind. Trying to find out if it's louder than stock or not since it deletes the stock sound tube. Also asked the guy at Airaid why the JR kit was like $20 more than buying the tube and filter separate, and he had no answer for that. Makes no sense
