Wow the 18's still have the shudder? I am thinking of getting a Colorado but all the problems I had with my 2017 Camaro and the shudder and slipping I got rid of the car. Is there a point when it is or was addressed or is it still an issue even on the 19's?

(I'd get a M/T on the Colorado but it is not offered on the V6, only on the under powered 4 cylinder work truck)

This ongoing and unsolved issue is the exact reason I bought an M6 last month. I really feel for these owners who have repeatedly brought it in for the issue and it's still not resolved. Not to mention the runaround some dealers use and also outright lies and deception. which have beem well documented in this and other threads.

Yep, been to the dealer 3 times already for them to say they cannot recreate the problem. Thinking about finding a new dealer

There are ongoing class action lawsuits regarding this issue. I am wondering where they are currently standing.

OK well..... after long waited time in a POS rental . i got my SS back. Sure enough when i picked it up they had a form that said TSB## . The same service guy was like we found this under the car info and we did the flush... duhhh .....genius. Seems to be holding up ok but i wont hold my breath on it. The first shift is harder but the converter unlock on passing is very sensitive even on normal acceleration. I took my car for a test drive before leaving the rental to be sure. Told him i will be back for the same thing in a few months.

At the dealer today for service on our Malibu I asked if they know about the Camaro shudder. With great confidence the service manager told me they have the new fluid, the equipment to do the flush and he believes this is the fix. This is reassuring.

Just seems to me that a TC with shudder issues has damage. This would lead to earlier failure than a non-damaged TC. So the fluid flush stops the shudder. But what about the TC life. To me the fix is a new TC and fluid flush. Of course GM would need another bail out for that.

So if GM is so confidant in the flush fix, how about extended warranty on the trans and TC for the shudder fixes?

I actually have a better one then this. The newer '17 and up Silverado's and GMC diesels have a trans line rubbing. Many or most of us got a letter from GM saying this could be an issue and if it is then bring it back to us and we will fix it once it breaks. Yet don't bring it back to us until that happens. So I'm supposed to wait until I'm on vacation towing 20,000 lbs and then the trans line lets go and I'm stuck. From the forums nearly all of them are rubbing and that trans line being like 3/4" OD isn't very easy to bend for like a home made fix.

I want to send the letter back to Mary Barra and ask her, are you kidding me???

So in effect GM is saying yeah we screwed up your trans lines and we will fix it only if you blow up first.

This feels even better as fodder for a class action than the A8 shudder, to be honest. If the flaw is known and acknowledged, all you need is a potential safety hazard aspect and it's a slam dunk.

I’m at my wits end with my dealer. Took the car in 4 months ago for the shudder. Sure enough it comes back at the end of the year and the tech I’m working with says to hold off until the new fix. I bring my car in 2 months ago for a starter issue and bring up the tranny problem again. This time the tech tells me the new fix has left a shortage of the new fluid. Keep calling and they should get some soon. On March 3 my bumper to bumper warranty expires but I’m told that the issue is known and not to worry. I call last week to see if they have the new fluid and my tech doesn’t work there anymore....and there are no other follow up notes in the system since my original complaint. I talk to a new tech who says - bring it in - we need to run diagnostics (which I get) to determine and it could be any one of 5 different fixes. Ok - I bring the car in today and they tell me there could be a $150 diagnostic charge if GM doesn’t think this is part of the power train warranty or related to the previous work. What BS.

I was pretty excited to finally have a Camaro until I saw these threads and noticed the shudder during a longer highway trip this afternoon.

Get it to a dealer ASAP to do the fluid swap. If they catch it early it won't be permanent.

What are the early signs?
