No need for an extra fob because you have a hidden key? With just the key without the fob, you can get in the car and then what? I guess you can at least sit while you wait for help.

I'm going to amend my earlier statement by saying if I was taking the Camaro on a road trip far from home, I would take the spare fob. But not for local driving.

what Phone APP is that?

Download the myChevrolet app on your phone. You may have to call OnStar (like I had to) to get help setting up your account, but you should be eligible for 5 years basic service through the phone app. The free app includes key fob remote commands for door lock/unlock, remote engine start, and horn and light flashing.

In my case, my wife's 2011 Cruze (which never had a OnStar paid service before) was also free to add to the myChevrolet app because our OnStar account shares the same home address.

Same. My key fob is completely separate and on its own. I never have it with me unless I'm driving.
