Thanks Chris, thanks for your thoughts and feedback.
Ive heard from 2 Forum members that track ZL1 1LEs and they assure me there is nothing pronounced or noticable going on during longer runs. This mirrors feedback from a track friend with a ZL1. Regardless, i appreciate your views. If GM sticks a 500+ LT1 in a 2020 SS i may very well go with another SS 1LE. But if they dont i will likely spring for a ZL1 the good, the bad and the ugly of it as it may be lol! Good luck with your build! Cheers! |

Another data point FWIW....I managed to get 5 days in last fall after I got an 18 ZLE, with no heat issues at all. All days were cool and not summer hot, so that helped, and most of my track time is in the northeast so I don't expect any heat issues and/or power loss in the summer months. So far, seems like a very robust powertrain that drives lighter than the weight would suggest.
