Clear Bra on 1LE and hood care
This is probably obvious, but since the 1LE hood is wrapped, it would seem pointless to clear bra the hood?
That said, how do you care for the hood? Do you wax it, etc.? |

You are correct. No need to add another layer to the hood wrap.

Clear Bra for the hood cost nearly the same as it costs to replace the vinyl... so not much benefit.
I do recommend getting the hood ceramic coated. No more finger prints |

Surely though, the vinyl wrap is much thinner and not 'self healing' like clear bra though? I'm not sure I'd trust just the vinyl wrap to protect against rock chips.
I think I saw someone on here put on a 'stealth' type clear bra on top of the vinyl wrap, to keep it satin/matte. I chose to just remove the vinyl wrap and get a normal clear bra done. I like that look better anyway.

Have the hood wrapped in satin every 2 years....easier to clean than Matte...all for a coupe hundred bucks....
Between wraps use Adams wrap detailer, wipe on/off Filming a wrap is overkill |

Just purchased the 17 1le a couple of weeks ago, and BTW loving it too.
The hood wrap is one of the best features about the car. I'm starting to look into what can be done to protect it. Hearing there is a detailer for it is great news. I'm also wondering though, what is under the wrap? Did GM paint the same body color under it before putting the wrap on it or go cheap and leave it with some kind of primer or something? I've just been reading about the clear bra. It sounds like a great way to protect the paint.
I'm thinking I'd like to have it installed over the entire vehicle except the hood, since it has the wrap which can be replaced fairly easily. Does anyone know what kind of cost that is to have a clear bra installed? Sent from my SS Note8 1le using Tapatalk |

Find your local auto shop that does tint and other associated stuff, they usually can install this. Often times, the dealers will contract out with one of these shops to install on new vehicles at customer request. |
