Removing 3m tape residue from dash

Does anyone have any experience using goo gone on the dash. The prior owner had some kind of mount attached to the dash. I want to use some goo gone on it but I don't want it the chemical etch or something. How durable is this plastic?

Goo gone will work fine....But you may be able to rub most of it away with your thumb… Just keep working it… Follow up with something like mothers back to black or poor boys natural look to bring back the luster…....

Thanks, I'll give it a try. My thumb is no longer effective on it lol. It's probably not 3m stuff but it's similar.

I just don't want a noticeable discoloration, figured I'd ask

Use a microfiber towel, not your fingernail or plastic tool.

I like Turtle Wax Label & Sticker Remover. Goo gone or alcohol also may be necesary.

Always test in an inconspicuous place first.

I suspect I would be tempted to try a dab of olive oil on that stuff before I went with any goo/p remover, but that's just me.

Most glue residues stand no chance against vegetable oils.
