Another 500whp on stock heads/cam thread

Mainly wondering because I haven't seen a lot of bolt-on folks doing Holley/ZR1 combos without a cam... Is that because there aren't gains to be had without the cam or just because it's newer parts?

Curious if anyone has done the following setup and what it made...

-E85 sensor/tune/fuel
-2in catless headers
-ported Holley hi-ram
-ported ZR1/LT5 TB
-intake (RF prob)
-10% UD Pulley

Wondering if 500whp or within 1-2% of that is possible on a 6MT

It would be interesting to see, on a dynojet SAE.

That would be mighty impressive if achieved, you'd be closing in on +100hp from stock without going inside the motor.
Do it and let us know the results!

My car just made 475rwhp on a loaded mustang dyno. I’ve got a stock 95mm throttle body, Hi-Ram, 2” hooker blackheart longtubes, and flex fuel. Car is an a8 car and pulls were done in 5th gear. Still need to add the ATI pulley and port the tb. Has an OTR cold air intake that I made.

Thanks guys. Really like the idea of buying another 1LE and just getting to 500whp (or very close) without the labor-intensive amount of work a cam needs. It wasn't really possible 12-18 months ago when I built my old 1LE.
Looks like it is nowadays

I moved into my new house with a basically one car garage. I had none of my tools from back home and basically had to start over with just a craftsman mechanics set, a few Milwalkee fuel impacts, and some other things.

I put my cam and heads on in about a 3 week timeline that included taking the heads off and sending them off for porting. Yes I had a big mess and nothing was done "professionally" and cleanly but I basically had a garage floor, one little shelf/stand, and some cardboard boxes to lay stuff on. It really isn't an intricate job. The hardest parts for me was chasing/taping the head bolt holes to ensure they were clean enough to put the heads back on, so that meant a lot of bending over and wearing out my hands and arms turning the chaser/tap in the block. Pulling the radiator (or really pulling it out from the bottom, I think I remember how I did it?) is of course a pita, and sneaking it behind the AC condenser lines you have to really stretch it, I stretched mine enough to wear freon started leaking out but I kept going anyway. I think the most highly valued time saving special tool of the job is probably a flexible hose clamp pliers, which I didn't have at the time.

Here's my 2017 SS 1LE. Roto-Fab dry, 103mm TB, Ported MSD, 2" ARH headers, full 3" ARH exhaust, E85 at 78% e content. Red is when it was completely stock.

aftermarket manifold is where the big gains are. Stocker is done early. Ported MSD or ported high ram will do work

Hard to argue with a dynojet SAE...

I know nothing about the e85 effect on power so have a couple of questions maybe you can answer , how much more power does that make? What does the car make on regular gas vs the e85?
Thank you
