Transformers 5 Bumblebee Spotted in the Movie "Finch"

So I was watching the new movie "Finch" starring Tom Hanks and something caught the corner of my eye: What appears to be one of the actual Camaros used in Transformers 5 is just randomly hanging off to the side as a wrecked car. I couldn't find any real significance or meaning that could make this an Easter egg. My guess is that it was just a random car the studio happened to have access to.

Just for comparison, I'm also providing a screenshot of the car (or one of its counterparts) as it appeared back when it was in better shape. You can tell be the hood and lower grill design that this is in fact not a production Camaro, but the actual movie vehicle.

Yeah, part of what made this so easy to spot is how random and butt-ugly the car looks. The random blackout on the upper fender was also a giveaway that this really is the movie car living a new life as a junk prop.

Bumblebee is not, nor ever will be a Camaro. Screw you Michael Bay for wrecking my childhood with crappy movies.

I never liked the look but eh, maybe the kids like it.

I actually know someone who modded their 2.0T to kinda resemble that Bumblebee, too.

That's how a lot of people, especially kids, got to know Camaro, so there is that.

I am still amazed that pretty much everyone agreed that the TF5 went way over the top with it's design and yet GMs design team still thought it was a great idea to pretty much copy the entire frontend for the refresh

i always laughed at that car in the movie but when you think of what year it was made it does seem that gm was cooking up the refresh as soon as they released the car? i mean look how close that is to a current SS. i bet it was just some designers wild concept sketch and they went with it for the film.

From my understanding they custom made the TF5 design for the movie, but obviously the refresh with very similiar styling was already in theworks at this time - Transformers Camaros always teased the upcoming Camaro model.

But you just have to look at the reacions in this forum to the TF5 Camaro reveal to see that the design was hated. So this Transformer was revealed in May 2016, that's two years before they revealed the MY2019 refresh. They had more than enough time to see that they should not go for this styling if they want to make the refresh a success or at least make some adjustsments for the final product. But still they released the 19 model as it was and only reacted as press and people online shit all over the design.

GM used the 2019 SS bumper with a modified bottom on the 2016-2017 Transformers 5 Bumblebee and of course a special upper grille to support the 2016-2018 headlights. They also used modified ZL1 rocker panels as well.
