Seems to make a lot of sense. If you can only build "X" amount of cars, you will choose the most profitable ones to build.

So many things are being effected right now from chip shortages to rising prices of metals like aluminum.

Trying to buy a motorcycle right now is not much easier.

I think that too this was an expected shutdown for switch over to the 22 models but I'm not positive on that.

We'll see more and more of this as vehicles share the same platform, since at that point, time spent on something that sells slowly can easily be at the expense of building what will sell fast (basically whenever demand > supply for the fast seller / higher profit vehicle)

So it is safe to assume that our 6th gen v8 camaros may further increase in appraised value as we enter summer and demand increases for this type of vehicle this season and little to no new ones are available.

If I didn't buy last Sept and was in the market for an 2022 or 21 SS I'd probably would wait a few more months and get the 400z when it comes out. The price would be the same or even cheaper than a 2SS from what I'm seeing. Some of the articles have the 400z starting at under 40k and similar performance times to the SS.

of note on my deal we hemmed and hawed about 21 and 22 models and future production in Jul this year but I then said value on my car has skyrocketed and they came right back with where do you want your refund check sent to? Kinda funny you know on my trade that we had pseudo agreed to XXXXX and 3 months later its gone WAY up that I'm sure they weren't going to even discuss it; $$

I would have done the exact same thing and strongly considered a 400z. I bought my 2021 last fall as well so it’s a mute point and I’m happy with the Camaro. With the 400z, I’ve seen talk of the MSRP starting as low as $34,995 and anywhere from 400-444HP for the non-NISMO model. If Nissan can produce enough, they will sell a ton of them with the current market conditions.

Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re in the same boat as me where you could sell your 2021 for more than the sale price if you wanted.
