Definitely had it, I could see on the dash when it was in 4cly mode or 8. Worked well in this car you couldn't tell when it switched back and forth. Thought it was pretty advanced for its time (15 yrs ago).

We don’t talk about that one.

Actually, that 2006 Monte Carlo did have it. Talked to somebody who was closer to it than I was and he says the first trucks were in 2004 or 5. Plus my wife reminds me that she had a 2007 Impala that had it.

The 1981-82 Cadillac V8-6-4, so bad GM killed after 2 years. An infamous engine no doubt.

The most fun part of owning one of those? The fuel injection continued to let fuel leak into the cylinders that were shut off at cruise on the highway, so when you would get off the freeway and slowed down, as ignition restarted on the shut down cylinders those cylinders would be flooded and the car often stalled
