Im not 100% sure about them but from speaking with my dealership on Tuesday they said they have not heard anything new. My 2SS Rapid Blue 1LE is still scheduled to be in production this week..

So might be good news since i see you have the same car on order

I actually had a dealer in Kentucky call me this morning and said they have a car in transit that's not spoken for. I may go ahead and jump on it.

I know you're excited to get yours! Best of luck.

That's on your dealer, an allocation is needed to successfully complete an order.

If it's still at 1100 after 5 months, chances are they don't have any and have been stringing you along, with a potentially indefinite wait until the model year is built out, at which point your order will be canceled by gm unless it's manually converted into a 2024 (and another question is whether there will be a 2024 model year at all).

I'd cancel this order now and find a dealer who does actually have allocations and delivers Camaros to customers. Check out the threads in this subforum, you'll find a ton more details.

With a 5 month wait for allocation. I’d think about placing an order with a dealer that can get allocation quicker a high volume dealer. Make sure you ask about allocations when ordering.

Putting in orders with multiple dealers can help but as long as GM is only producing 20 2SS per week it just takes a while. My 2SS 1LE order has sat for 6 months. I am starting to look for available inventory but have found what I want yet.

So from what i have been told for here in Canada that once you start putting in orders at multiple dealerships, GM will flag your name and cancel all orders you placed and you dont get the car.

I know someone who placed 5 ordered for an Escalade.. He received a call from each dealership stating GM has canceled his orders and he was only able to purchase off the lot for that vehicle now. Something to do with GM not wanting dealerships to have to much stock of specific vehicles??

anyone know anything on that?

We also have to sign a document now stating we cannot sell the car for 6months and it needs to have a min of 12k KM on it before GM releases the 1$ lean it places on the cars, and that the cars primary driving location is in Canada and not taken to the USA until after that time frame.. ( stopping US customers from purchasing here )

Just heard a news story that Dodge is letting people search by available dealer allocations for Chargers/Challengers. Basically, you go to the site, put in your search criteria (zip code, model, trim, etc.), and the search will tell you which dealers have available allocations for the car you want, as well as how many.

I think that's a great idea, and only wish GM would set up something like that.

Yep horsepower locator. It’s pretty neat. Dodge is saying that even if you go to a dealer with allocation the wait could be up to a year.

That's really cool. If GM had something like that when I was shopping for my Camaro late last year/early this year it would have made things a lot less frustrating.

While it makes it easy way easier to locate a dealer with an allocation, it’s already creating significant ADM. As much as it sucks waiting for allocations, at least many of us were able to solidify our price since the dealer had no idea how many they’d still be getting.

Nonetheless, this is all crap. I know it’s the current climate and all, but I miss the days when one could walk in anywhere and just order whatever they wanted. tHe nEw nOrMaL sucks lol

Small things like this and color selection, "jailbreak" editions, proper advertising and so on resulted in Dodge claiming the top spot with their 2008 architecture more than a decade later. This is the difference between caring even just a little bit and not giving a rat's a** about your customers.
