Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing

Order went in today. Dealer thinks with a little luck a February delivery might happen. During the long drive to the dealers my plan was to order the M6. But my shoulder began to act up and reminded me in no uncertain terms the A10 would be a more drivable choice. The ZL1 will stay until the Blackwing is delivered or someone offers me a price I can't turn down.

9 minutes in - 624 on dyno, can't wait to see this in a ZL1 for 2023!

If I have the money I'd take the Black Wing if given the choice. You get a Sedan with more room AND a very fast car as well.

Hard to believe it makes that much power on the dyno... that would be 50 WHP more than a stock ZL1... Yeah it's rated at 18 HP more but that doesn't account for everything...No chance GM has that engine making 700 flywheel HP and is just calling it 650...

Nice if you want to spend over $100,000 or more on a Cadillac. I do like that new orange color though and wouldn’t mind having a new ZL1 in that color but it won’t happen.

I'm on the list at my dealership for a C8 Z06. So that is my only goal right now. But if that falls thru then I will for sure be considering a CT5-V Blackwing. Or a Superstock. Or a TRX.

I'm salivating over a C8 Z06. The Blackwing does absolutely nothing for me, but I can appreciate why people like it.

10% driveline loss is more in line with BMWs ratings (and the new M3 Comp is rumored to put down over 500 on a dyno), maybe GM is being a little more conservative. There is also a rumor that, with the intake changes, the blower is producing more like 10-11 psi

Considering the average LT4 in the ZL1 is making ~550-570 rwhp, 620 would be a nice bump

Totally agree with you Schlok… i’m having a very difficult time understanding how an additional 18 hp above the ZL1 engine can produce so much additional WHP. Doesn’t seem feasible considering it’s the same transmission that’s in the manual Z right now. I would also think that the Camaro has a shorter wheelbase which would make the wheel horsepower even greater. Am I missing something obvious?!? Thanks everyone

It won't. As we all know dyno's vary. A Blackwing rated at 18 more HP at the crank is going to be around 10-12whp more than a car with an LT4 on the same dyno.
