Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

Does anyone else have experience with this tire? I've got 275/30/20 and 305/30/20 on my car, and sometimes I swear it feels like they're spinning, but never any noise, odor, or dash warnings. Am I going crazy? I did narrowly avoid a major wreck a few months ago and the tires didn't even flinch that day.

They're good tires. How old are they? Tread still good?

I didn't use them with my Camaro(I really like the stock Supercar 3), but I did use them before on my RX-8, which is a lot lighter, makes 1/3 of Camaro SS's peak torque, but also the tread is a lot thinner at 225/45/R18 front and back.

They are good tires for the price, though they have their limits. They should handle anything you can reasonably throw at them on the street, then some at AutoX. Still, watch the throttle. Shouldn't be hard for a V8 Camaro to light them up.

I had a set on my 15 Mustang GT/PP, I like them, more than anything the name is what causes people to choke on this tire, it's cheesy. But it's a name change, the tire is the Bridgestone RE003(?) which has a great rep but Firestone is a cheaper name.
I didn't have a problem with the tire and I drove them hard. There's of course better in that category of summer tire and they seem to always comes with this "for the money".
Of those the SC3, ECS that I've been using over the years I don't get an audible signal with the spin, you'll see it on the dash but not much at all for squealing tires sounds.

I put firehawks 275/40/19's on my 2SS AUgust 2020 and loved them. Traded car in for ZL1 on April 23 21'. They handled well and rode well.

I've had the tires for about 8 months, and they probably have about 3500 miles on them, a benefit of working from home.

It's probably just me then. I appreciate all the feedback so far!

I've had them on different vehicles. I just replaced a set that was 3 years old and still some tread left because they just didn't feel "Right". Replaced with another set of 500's and the car is back to perfect.

My feeling is the Florida Sun & Heat got to them and made them hard

Bridgestone owns Firestone. I haven’t had any Firestone tires in many, many years, but I’ve had lots of Bridgestones & most have been awful - even their motorcycle tires were terrible. I won’t go out of my way to accept their junk, when there are several other high quality manufacturers to choose from.

Your basing reviews of car tires on motorcycle tires?

My experience was completely different. First I went with a square set up and the tires performed just fine for me....Your opinion may vary....
