Frustrating for sure. Hang in there.
OK thanks. I think I'm fine with a spring delivery. Another question for you or the group: is it possible that Chevy will cancel the order? I'm hearing that 2022 might be the last year of the Camaro (Electric sedan might be called a Camaro, but that's not the car we know), so I'm just concerned they'll never make my car.

Hi, I'm not professing to be an expert here, but again, my understanding is once you are at 3000 they typically are building your car (at some point) and if they were to just flat out cancel (which they did with the Corvette this year for 2021 orders that were not at 3000 status) that your car would still be ok. Having said that, we are in strange times.

A dealer out here in Alberta just jacked up the price on an incoming ZL1 to $115,000 Canadian (and it had been listed around $95,000). There are 2 private sellers asking $118,000 Canadian for their 2021 ZL1's.

It does. So stupid to not only ask that much but for anyone to pay it. Dont care if your a trillionaire either - dont be an idiot.
I hope these cars sit unsold.... if even a few people are dumb enough to pay this it will encourage other speculators to do the same thing. Ugh. People.

That dealer would lose my business. Adding a markup of $5k or something is questionable, adding what $40k in this case is ridiculous.

So, I'm with you guys, but remember, that's Canadian Dollars, which regardless either way it's a huge markup, but that works out (roughly) to about $90k US.

Apparently the dealer said they are asking (so much) more than MSRP because they can and because it's getting harder and harder (and will be even harder going forward for the near future) to get them (ZL1's or any models I'm starting to think at this point). I'm pretty happy that I bought my 2021 2 weeks ago. Now it's just waiting for an ECM chip, QC and shipping!

there are laws in ontario to prevent this on new car sales. I thought the same for Alberta. Unless this is a used car with huge markup which is the norm right now

Their website has it listed as in incoming brand new ZL1. I'm guessing that they are aware of what they can and cannot get away with in terms of pricing and provincial regulations.

Looks like the V6 will be constrained until at least November, as someone had mentioned previously. This is the first media report I have seen specifically about it though.

I saw that today as well. I'm so torn right now. I found a 21 V6 with all the specs I want minus the tech package about an hour from me. I am wondering if I allow my impatience to get the best of me and pursue that or just wait it out for my order. I don't know how much I'll regret not having the tech package. All the uncertainty is killing me because I have this weird fear that I am never getting my car due to all the problems and how they are getting worse it seems.

I don’t think things are necessarily getting worse… but things aren’t getting better, at least not very fast. Tough call, if you found something that has most of what you want. I’m not sure what all is in the Tech package, 8” infotainment and Bose, but what else? May include the uplevel gauges too I suppose? Those are nice.

Even if the article said early Nov. vs. late Nov. would be helpful. As is knowing when your dealer thinks they might get allocation, but that’s just a guess too…

Do not let FOMO (fear of missing out) guide your decisions. You are almost certain to either pay overly inflated prices, or get into a race as to who can buy the car first, if you attempt to get a car physically on a dealership lot (or on the way). Remember, we are still in 2021. If you ordered a '22, you still have most of the model year available for them to build your car.
