8/28 and 8/29 Buttonwillow event

Anyone going? Never been but I’m contemplating it. Just a really long drive from Roseville. Anyone else joining the fun?

Speed SF is a great organization and I really want to do CCW1, but still too hot for my liking.

Yeah, it’s set to be 102/104 sat/sun. I did a 100 degree event with Turn8 a few weeks ago at Thunderhill. The late runs were toasty and tires got a little loose but the first 3 sessions were okay.

I’d like to try Buttonwillow as I’ve never been. However, it’s 4.5 hours away and I drive the Camaro to track events. I’m thinking after a long hot event, it’ll be a brutal drive home.

The one part that got me thinking was the promo deal… only costs $125!

I say it’s only a 20% chance I’ll go one day and probably that being Saturday. Still trying to convince the wife that it’s a need IN ADDITION to my already booked 9/4 event at thunderhill. Lol

Buttonwillow CCW was great

Sorry I missed this thread before.
Saturday was great, going CCW. It certainly is a completely different track. First runs were around 7AM and so there was time to get on track and avoid the heat. I did all the sessions before the late lunch (around 1) . I can say that my pure stock 21 SS 1LE didnt have a hint of overheating even as air temps rose well above 100 and I have no idea how hot the track was.
I do know my phone literally shut down in the middle of a run from overheating but not the 1LE. All those coolers work great!!

Glad you got to make it out there! It just didn’t work out for me.

Agree with your perspective. The 1LE is unflappable! It continues to impress me. I’ll be at Thunderhill this Saturday for the 5 mile event
