Dip Stick was Smoking when I pulled it.
I did an oil change and took a ride. When I got home I pulled the dip stick and it was smoking in the middle. The is also a 6 inch section that is turning brown. It is in the area where the dip stick goes through the exhaust manifold area. I Didn't notice the discoloration on the dip stick till after my 3rd track day. So the discoloration has been there for a few months. Never checked it hot before after a drive.
I run mobil 15W50. 3000 miles. Car is totally stock. Anyone else have a discolored oil dipstick? Last edited by Pollock; 09-16-2019 at 11:58 AM. |

mine is brown too in the middle just as you stated...this would likely not happen with a street situation
