Camaro will be getting the LT5 but will likely need taller gears in the A10 so the car can hook.
Not really but if they do drop in the LT5 I won't give a $hit what they call it. I will care how it competes with the GT500.

I don't see the LT2 going in the current Camaro. Probably the base V8 for the 7th gen. I do see the LT5 going in the 6th gen with possibly a DCT but for sure the A10 after the C8 Vette debuts similar to how 5th Gen Z/28 with the LS7 was introduced. So maybe early next year after the GT500 is already out.

IMO an LT5 Camaro would decimate anything in it's path

We know how it works. GM develops engines, transmissions and platforms for the group. Camaro benefits from equipment developed for the best the have at the time. All of the gen6 components were released in Corvette and CTS variants starting in 2014. The car has been nothing but amazing.
I’ve never said the Camaro isn’t excellent. I’m saying it could be better if they were allowed some flexibility with the engines.

I will take your constant argument of Camaro only getting the big HP engines from the Vette once Vette is done with them. They confirmed that the C7 is going out of production in July so no more ZR1s which means the LT5 will be fair game. It could perfectly mirror the 5th gen Z/28 getting the LS7 in 2014 when the C7 launched. And based on what I've seen 2021 will be the last year for the 6th gen so that could also perfectly mirror the 5th gen if they have 2020 & 2021 as the two year run for the Z/28 this time.

Do I think this will happen: No

But does it conflict with most your arguments: NO

It could, but historically the ZR-1 engine has remained exclusive to the Corvette.

C4 LT-1
C6 LS9

LT5*, Both the LT1 from the C4 and the LT4 from the C4 Grand Sport & Collectors Edition made it into the Camaro.

Question: Is there anyone out there running a modified ZL1 1LE with around 750-800hp that can show track data improvement between stock to modified? This would give you a rough idea of an O.E. version.

Look at the difference in performance between a Z06 and ZR1.

Except the ZR1 has a much different aero package from the Z06. I don't believe a new Z/28 would offer a much different, if at all different, aero package than the ZL1 1LE.

The question is..... What are they going to call the LT-5 Camaro?
I think it may have a new designation. We are in the twilight of the
V8 era. Dodge has upped the bar with their Hemi Challenger which will likely be offered in a lighter version soon enough. Chevrolet has to offer something in the Challenger/Mustang class to compete. The Corvette is aimed at a new level in performance which will be over and above the Camaro
definitively. The LT-5 Camaro is coming.

Chevy has never updated a Camaro model mid generation in response to another car. They even said they won’t respond to the Hellcat with the Camaro.

Why not just call it LT-5?

The gen5 Z/28 was a last minute decisions.

As you know, the ZL1 was supposed to be the Z/28 but they changed at the name to ZL1 at last minute. The Z/28 was in response to all the crap they were getting about weight and the Boss LS.

I do however think the entire gen6 was planned from the beginning. The gen5 evolved.
