Camaro ZL1 Electronic Limited Slip Differential Drag Calibration

Looks like GM just released a new Drag Race calibration for the ZL1s. If it's anything like the Vettes with their new mag ride calibration, we should see a significant difference.

Quote:
Calibration Details:
Continuous drag strip development combined with the pursuit of perfection have pushed our Camaro
engineers to develop an eLSD calibration that will enable more consistent burnout performance and
improved drag strip launches. The eLSD calibration will increase differential coupling strength during
burnout and drag launch scenarios. This is done by increasing the pressure applied to the clutch pack in
order to prevent relative slip between the clutch plates. End result will ensure burnouts warm both tires
evenly and launches to be straight and consistent.
Note: This calibration is for drag racing purposes only. The eLSD Drag Performance Calibration will only
be enabled

So will this add a mode for drag racing that we can turn on and off?

We should also be able to do this on a SS 1LE, correct?

Sorry, my copy and paste was weak from this morning.

Note: This calibration is for drag racing purposes only. The eLSD Drag Performance Calibration will only be enabled when the vehicle is in Traction Control System Off and Electronic Stability Control Off state.
So it's not adding anything, just when certain conditions are met.

So I wonder if it will be active in Sport Competitive mode? That’s my go to mode for the strip.

Very interesting. We did not receive a brief on this so will have to ask my rep. I'll get it done on mine straightaway. Hopefully there's more calibrations coming - but it's all hush-hush from team Camaro.

If you already have a tune, I'm guessing having them do this would be a problem.

I'm not sure what the e-LSD actually does. Why are there different "slippage" amounts that one can program into it?

Thanks.

It's programmed into the Chassis Control Module. As far as I know most aftermarket tunes only mess with the ECM and TCM
